About you


In order to be suitable, you must be operating, or have operated in the last three years on one of the following RAF Aircraft:


  • F-35B Lightning II
  • TyphoonFGR4
  • Hawk
  • Equivalent aircraft types flown on a foreign exchange tour will be considered


Applicants should have a minimum of 1500 fast jet hours flying experience. Hours accumulated instructing on a training aircraft may also be considered as part of the Fast-Jet hours (Creamies or training roles following a front-line tour).


You also need the following:


  • Hold a current UK Class One Medical.
  • ATPL/CPL(A)must have been issued by the UK CAA at the time of contract issue by Virgin Atlantic Airways
  • Frozen ATPL issued by the UK CAA at the date of joining.
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in English (certified as ICAO level 6 English Proficiency when applying)
  • Applicants must be prepared to provide copies of three Flying Training Reports (Basic (EFT) Flying Training Report, Advanced Flying Training Report and their most recent Annual Flying Report) prior to interview.
